        Prof. Schwartz is Director of the Southwest Center for Mind, Brain and Education at UTA. Schwartz is a charter member and served as the president of the International Mind, Brain and Education Society (IMBES). The mission of IMBES is to facilitate cross-cultural collaboration in biology, education and the cognitive and developmental sciences. Schwartz is also a researcher in the Science Education Department at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA). His research at the CfA focuses on how the dynamic enterprise of learning and teaching unfold in physics, chemistry, and biology education. Dr. Schwartz’s expertise focuses on translating cognitive and neuroscience for educational contexts.
