The Texas Center for Educational Technology
TCET was legislatively established in 1988 after a competitive grant process between all the major universities in Texas led to identifying UNT as TCET's home. TCET leverages its position within the Department of Learning Technology to access faculty and students on projects centering on the use of technology in the workplace. Fulltime staff within TCET manages projects, creates technology based learning materials and administratively supports ongoing efforts.
Over the past 10 years, funds exceeding 20 million dollars have been drawn to meet the growing needs of technology support in education and business. TCET has partnered with state and national agencies, universities, community colleges, businesses, and school districts including the U.S. Department of Education, the Texas Education Agency, the Department of Energy, Verizon, Intel and others.
